latest news and work to come
alright so now that ive posted pics of all that happened so far this winter heres a few lines about whats coming in the next weeks...i got a 12 strings lefty guitar to convert into a righty which implies changing the bridge for a new one and re fitting the neck cuz its not straight due to a bad attempt at repairing it after another BAD attempt at converting it ouch!! ,a classical 000 broken soundboard to change, painting my old yamaha guitar in white(already started, only based coats are done)and making this lil coffee table im dreaming about and making kitchen shelves a yaya....more will follow...
making of a sanding station for the drill press and guitar neck removal jig
i got this design idea from stew mac!i couldnt afford buying one so i thought i would make it..it will be useful for sanding bridges and nuts and any little parts for any project..i also added 2 pics of a neck removal jig i built recently...
it looks damn good...ill add some carpet under it to protect the guitar finishes...
more updates
we got an old drill press that needed to be fixed cuz its been left alone without care for years.it needed new pulleys cuz there was none actually.
ok now for the fun part(uh)i got my hands on a 3/4 pulley for the shaft but the problem i encountered was that the sleeve that fits over the shaft wouldnt fit the 3/4 hole of the pulley!instead of waiting and ordering a new one i decided to try to fix that myself!!i clamped the motor on the bench and fitted the sleeve on the motor shaft and fixed it with some duck tape(any way)and turn machined it with a standard grinding wheel...damn it was long!it took me a few passes to get the right size cuz i had to let it stand every now and then cuz friction got the metal really hot....after i would say a dozen times i got a nice fit!!
i cleaned everything with acetone and put new grease
clean motor
the new look
will stay to make a guard for safety purposes
shop isolation
